Expression of Interest for Recruitment of a consulting firm for the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) Energy Storage Strategy Project. Investment plan prepara/on Analysis of system behavior and op5miza5on of the grid to cope with an increasing volume of Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) in the supply and demand forecast within SAPP -Assessment of exis5ng storage capacity as well as ongoing and planned projects in SAPP member countries -Technical assessment of the applica5on of energy storage solu5ons such as baEery energy storage and pumped hydro for VRE integra5on -High-level legal/regulatory and economic/financial assessment of the energy storage solu5ons in SAPP -Recommenda5on of the range of energy storage solu5ons based on the technical, legal, regulatory, financial/economic, and environmental viability assessments -Prepara5on of a draJ regional investment plan (15-year 5me horizon) for developing energy storage solu5ons in the grid system including priori5za5on of poten5al projects which will be fed into the next SAPP Pool Plan update. Assignment: The African Development Bank (AfDB) invites eligible consulting firms to express their interest for the assignment for the SAPP Energy Storage Strategy Project. This project is funded by the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA).
