The Norwegian Public Roads Administration And The Directorate Of Roads Will Simplify, Digitize And Create More Uniform Practice So That We Can Meet Todays Needs And Facilitate Future Solutions For Heavy Transport In The Years To Come. The Regulations For Permitted Weights And Dimensions For Vehicles On Public Roads Are Uneducational And Not Adapted For Digital Solutions. The Systems For Calculating Permitted Weights, Based On The Type Of Vehicle, Load And Road, Are Complex And Difficult To Find. The First Phase Of This Work Is A Project Which, During 2026, Will Collect Knowledge About This Area Of The Transport Sector And What Problems Exist. The Work Is Planned To Be Carried Out With A Multidisciplinary Internal Working Group In Close Cooperation With Industry, Sectors And County Councils And Municipalities. In This Phase, There Will Only Be Talk Of An External Project Manager.
