Tenders are invited for Hiring a Firm for the Development of a Radio Drama Series to Popularise the Comprehensive Sexuality Education Curriculum. Background The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is a Pan African womens organization whose mission is to support girls and women acquire education for development. FAWE was founded in 1992 and its headquarters are in Nairobi, Kenya. FAWE Rwanda is one of the 34 chapters across Africa. FAWE Rwanda was founded in 1997 by a group of Rwandese women whose common goal is to build the country and promote national development through girls and womens education. Since its inception, FAWE Rwanda has grown to become a reputable partner and focal point on womens empowerment through education in Rwanda. Amplify Change is funding a three-year (3) project dubbed Beyond boundaries Reclaiming sexuality of vulnerable young people in Rwanda and will implement its activities in 5 districts. The project is being implemented in a consortium of six partners which are: FAWE Rwanda implementing in Nyagatare District, National Union of Disability Organization in Rwanda (NUDOR) implementing at National Level, Impanuro Girls Initiative (IGI) implementing in Kirehe district, Learn Work Develop (LWD) implementing in Gatsibo district , Organization for Integration and Promotion of People with Albinism (OIPPA) implementing in Gasabo district and Rwanda Union of the Blind (RUB) implementing in Muhanga district. This project aims to address the significant challenges faced by youth with disabilities in accessing and exercising their sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). Our goal is to empower these young individuals by providing them with the knowledge, resources, and necessary support to make informed decisions about their sexuality including sexual pleasure, ultimately leading to improved health outcomes and overall well-being. Access to accurate and age appropriate comprehensive sexuality Education (CSE) remains a challenge among young people especially in rural communities like Nyagatare district. Harmful social norms, stigma and limited parent child communication contribute to increased risks of teenage pregnancy, sexual violence and school dropout. Radio remains one of the most effective communication channels in Rwanda, particularly for reaching wide and diverse audiences. A radio drama series provides an engaging relatable and culturally appropriate platform to educate communities on CSE (Comprehensive Sexuality Education) topics. It is with this background that FAWE Rwanda is seeking to hire competent service providers/consultants to produce Radio drama series on the above mentioned theme. 2. Objectives of the assignment To design, produce and broadcast an engaging radio drama series that raises awareness and promotes positive attitudes and behaviors around CSE among adolescents parents, teachers and wider community. To increase awareness and understanding of CSE concepts among young people and communities To address harmful gender norms and practices contributing to sexual gender based violence To promote open dialogue on sexuality, reproductive health and rights To encourage school retention especially among girls To empower adolescents to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health 3 .Scope of work The selected consultant / firm will: a. Content development: Develop a detailed concept and storyline for one radio drama Write scripts for a series of 10 episodes Ensure integration of key CSE themes including: puberty and adolescence, consent and healthy relationships, Gender equality, prevention of teenage pregnancies, sexual and gender Based Violence (SGBV), Life skills and Decision making b. Production: Recruit and manage voice actors Record and edit high quality audio episodes Incorporate sound effects and culturally relevant story telling techniques c. Broadcasting: Liase with selected radio stations for airing Ensure episodes and broadcast at peak listening hours Support repeat broadcasts where possible d. Community Engagement: Integrate listener feedback mechanisms (call ins, SMS, social media) Link drama content with radio talk shows or discussions where possible 4. Deliverables: Inception report with concept note and work plan Complete set of scripts for all episodes Recorded and edited radio drama episodes Broadcasting schedule and proof of airing Final report including audience reach and feedback both hard and soft copies 5. Duration: The assignment is expected to run for 3-6 months including development, production and broadcasting 6. Target Audience: Adolescents (in and out of schools) Parents and care givers Teachers and school administrators Community leaders 7. Required Qualifications: The consultant / firm should have: Proven experience in radio drama production or entertainment Strong understanding of CSE and gender issues Experience working with youth focused programs Capacity to produce high quality audio content 8. Reporting and supervision: The consultant will report to FAWE Rwanda and work closely with the program staff to ensure alignment with project objectives. 9. Required documents for Submission Motivation letter detailing proven relevant experience and understanding of the assignment At least two signed and stamped certificate of good completion for similar work especially from reputable organization. Having worked on SRHR project and worked for NGOs will be an added advantage CVs of team that will do the work, it should show specific expertise and achievements relevant to the assignment A technical proposal including the methodology and work plan for carrying out the assignment Financial proposal in Rwandan Francs (Tax Inclusive) RDB certificate Tax Clearance 10.
