In The Harbour, There Have Been Businesses Such As Shipyards, Workshops, Coal Depots And Bunkering Facilities. In The Surface Samples (0-30 Cm), Content Of Tbt, Copper, Mercury And Several Pah Compounds Corresponding To Condition Class V (Very Poor Environmental Condition) As Well As Tbt, Copper, Mercury, Pcb-7 And Several Pah Compounds Corresponding To Condition Class Iv (Poor Environmental Condition) Has Been Detected. This Is The Situation In Large Parts Of The Action Area In Svolvær Harbour. There Is An Action Plan For The Clean-Up Project, Drawn Up In 2020 And Several Investigations Carried Out After That. The Purpose Of The Action Plan Was To Prepare Concrete Measures To Clean Up Contaminated Sediments, And Thereby Reduce The Risk Of Pollution In The Short And Long Term. Planned Measures Are A Combination Of Dredging And Covering. The Defined Environmental Goal In The Action Plan Is To Achieve Condition Class Iii. The Project Has Focused On Action-Oriented Investigations And Had Some Sampling And Improvement Of The Action Plan Carried Out.
