Miscellaneous Special-Purpose Machinery – Prepreg-Anlage. As Part Of The Ecopreg Project (Funded By Erdf And Mwk Bwl), Aalen University Intends To Purchase A Highly Flexible Prepreg System That Pre-Impregnates Dry Fiber Rovings And Semi-Finished Fiber Products With A Thermoset Or Thermoplastic Polymer Matrix. So-Called Prepregs Are Used In A Wide Variety Of Lightweight Construction Applications. Future Research Projects Will Place A Particular Focus On Bio-Based And Recyclable Fiber Composite Materials For Sustainable Lightweight Construction. The Desired System Should Be Designed For The Research And Development Area. Accordingly, Special Requirements Are Placed In Terms Of Functionality, Flexibility And Size. The System Should Be Able To Process Glass And Carbon Fibers, As Well As Natural Fibers And Other Reinforcing Fibers. The System Must Therefore Be Flexible In Use And Easy To Maintain, Clean And Maintain. The Machine Must Function Reliably With Standard Materials And At The Same Time Be Flexible Enough To Test New Materials And Process Parameters.
