Tenders are invited for Beyond 5g Hub over-the-Air Vertical Segment Validations (Artes 4.0 5g/6g 3f.062) - Expro+ Objective: The objective of the activity is to develop and test integrated satellite-terrestrial solutions for Beyond 5G (B5G) use cases. To deliver such solutions, the activity will developsystem demonstrators that will validate B5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) solutions in realistic operational conditions, using over-the-air field trials.TargetedImprovements:Enabling the adoption of satellite by B5G verticals.Description: The prospect of satellite in B5G is far-reaching. B5G and in particular B5G NTN will build onthe capabilities of today s 5G networks and services, including those enabled byfuture 5G-Advanced and 6G. However, capitalising on this new opportunity will require satcom stakeholders to overcome many challenges, such as demonstrating thetechnical validity ofB5G NTN solutions under specific operational environments while fulfilling industries requirements, and understanding how to natively integrate future 6GNTN services in the operations of these industries. Building and launching B5G NTN infrastructure and services involves complex, time consuming and costly transformationalprojects at every level of satellite and terrestrial systems.To fillthis gap, this activity will develop, validate and demonstrate B5G NTN solutions for various vertical markets, including direct-to-device, IoT, automotive, transportation,maritime, health, energy, agriculture and emergency response. It will consolidate industrial requirements that will translate into the technical specifications of systemdemonstrators. Demonstrations will use existing spacesegment. The developments will leverage on leading industrial solutions and open-source technologies wheneverpossible, to support diverse requirements of market verticals, with guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) and other connectivity enablers as required. These will coveradaptations and enhancements of edge nodes, user equipment and network implementations to integrate satellite. The resulting systems will be validated and demonstratedusing over-the-air field trials allowing the concerned verticals to verify the performance of B5G NTN in a realistic operational conditions of their use cases.The activity will seek synergies with ARTES deliverables, testbeds, hubs, and in-orbit experiments, as well as with various European and national projects that are beingdeveloped.Read more Tender Link : https://esastar-publication-ext.sso.esa.int/ESATenderActions/filter/open
