Tenders are invited for ERS-EO IOD-C - Reduced Information Age (i.e. Data Latency from Acquisition to Product Delivery) In order to de-risk and accelerate the implementation phase of EOGS, the IOD/IOV activities will focus on short-term achievements delivered through targeted in-orbit experiments. These experiments are intended to provide early proof of concept and in-orbit validation, with demonstrable results available ahead of the next Ministerial Conference in 2028.The scope and objectives of the IOD/IOV activities are aimed at strengthening European autonomy, including enhancing the industrialisation of solutions already under development, and supporting pre-operational validation and technology demonstration. The technologies to be developed for EOGS space missions will be selected in consultation with the European Commission and Participating States, and in accordance with the main findingsof the EOGS studies. The technologies which are being considered are:- Secure inter-satellite links and IRIS interoperability;- Data management, on-board processing and dynamic satellite tasking to reduce latency;- Enhanced security features demonstrating resilience to the considered threats;- Serialisation and synergies (re-use) across the ERS fleet;- Increased agility and imaging capacity over crisis area;- Low-cost high-performance SAR and optical payloads with extended imaging capabilities; and- Platforms optimised for batch launches on European launchers and compatible with applicable clean space policies.Drawing on these findings, together with further consultation with industry through the Request for Information (RFI) released in July 2025 which received a substantial number of responses four main themes have been identified for the IOD/IOV activities. The In-Orbit Demonstration/Validation(IOD/IOV) activities are therefore organised into the following four themes:A. IOD-A: Low Luminance / Night VisionB. IOD-B: DynamicSatellite TaskingC. IOD-C: Reduced information age (i.e. data latency from acquisition to product delivery)D. IOD-D: Satellite Super AgilityThese correspond to areas where a further consolidation is needed (hence the relevance of conducting an IOD) before a feature of very high interest and relevance to the ERS-EO programme objective could be declared operational and included in the nominal configuration of the system.Read more Tender Link : https://esastar-publication-ext.sso.esa.int/ESATenderActions/filter/open
