The Ministry Of Forests 100 Mile House Wildfire Rehabilitation Department Invites Proposals From Registered Archaeologists Or Archaeology Firms Specializing In Archaeological Services In The Cariboo Region Of British Columbia To Assess Archaeological And Cultural Heritage Potential Within Areas Impacted By Wildfire Suppression Operations (Guards, Clearings, Etc.) On Multiple 2025 Fires And New 2026 Fires Focused In The Northern Half Of The 100 Mile House Natural Resource District (Appendix C).The Objective Of The Services Described Herein Is To Provide Archaeological And Cultural Heritage Services On An “As And When Needed” Basis To Support The Wildfire Rehabilitation Program Meeting Performance Measures And Legislative Requirements. The Successful Proponent Will Be Expected To Provide The Services And Subsequent Recommendations During Snow-Free Conditions To Support The Wildfire Rehabilitation Program’S Objectives And To Work Closely With Wildfire Rehab Personnel Within The 100 Mile House District, Local Indigenous Communities, And The Archaeology Branch.This Contract Has An Option To Renew For Up To 1 Additional Year With Agreement From Both Parties.The Successful Proponent Will Be Familiar With The Following Legislation And Guidance Documents:• Heritage Conservation Act And Associated Regulations• Heritage Investigation Permit 2025-0144 (Sample Contract Appendix 2)The Successful Proponent Will Be Fully Qualified And In Good Standing With The Archaeology Branch And Eligible For Inclusion On Permit 2025-0144 (Sample Contract Appendix 2) And Have At Least 5 Years Experience Working On Archaeological And/Or Cultural Heritage Projects Within The Cariboo Region To Fulfill Obligations.Further Details As To The Scope Of This Opportunity And The Requirements Can Be Found Within This Rfp.
