Due To The Tangible Risk That The Railway Ferries Will Be Replaced By Conventional Roll-On Roll-Off Vessels, Without The Possibility Of Driving Train Carriages On Board, The Swedish Transport Administration Needs To Take Measures To Ensure That The Necessary Train Ferry Traffic Remains For Another Six Years, Until The Fehmarn Belt Connection Is Opened For Rail Transport. The Assignment Concerns An Assurance Of Continued Traffic With Train Ferries Between Sweden And Germany. Compensation Will Be Paid Only For Reported Additional Costs For Train Ferry Traffic With Two Train Ferries With Daily Traffic, An Additional Cost Compared To Similar Traffic With More Flexible, Cost-Effective And Newer Ro-Ro Ferries. The Start Of The Contract Is Urgent And Needs To Be As Soon As Possible, But No Later Than Within 3 Months After The Award Becomes Legally Binding. The Contract Period Extends To And Including 31/12/2031.
