The Municipality Of Hoeksche Waard Intends To Tender The Contract For The Ferry Connections Rhoons Veer And Puttersveer. Both Springs Are Bicycle Foot Springs. The Purpose Of This Tender Is To Select One Operator Per Plot For The Implementation And Exploitation Of: • Plot 1: The Rhoons Veer • Plot 2: The Puttersveer. A Development Reservation Applies To Both Plot 1 And Plot 2. This Means That The Final Award And The Resulting Agreement For Plot 1 And/Or Plot 2 Will Only Take Place After The Municipal Council Of The Municipality Of Hoeksche Waard Has Decided To Make All Necessary Financial Resources (The Budget) Available For All (Operating) Contributions That Are Necessary For The Implementation Of The Entire Assignment/Agreement (Entire Term). Lot 1 Concerns The Rhoons Veer Ferry Connection. The Rhoons Veer Is A Bicycle-Pedestrian Ferry And Currently Operates On Weekdays All Year Round. From The Second Weekend In May To The Second Weekend In September, Sailing Also Takes Place On Weekends And Public Holidays. The Ferry Operates During The Week From Early In The Morning Until Early In The Evening. The Ferry Transports An Average Of Approximately 33,000 Passengers Per Year (Average 2024–2025) And Fulfills An Important Function For Commuters, Students And Recreationists. Lot 2 Concerns The Puttersveer Ferry Connection. Puttersveer Is A Bicycle-Pedestrian Ferry And Currently Operates On Weekdays All Year Round. From The Second Weekend In May To The Second Weekend In September, Sailing Also Takes Place On Weekends And Public Holidays. The Ferry Operates During The Week From Early In The Morning Until Early In The Evening. The Ferry Carries An Average Of Approximately 41,200 Passengers Per Year (Average 2024–2025) And Also Has A Mixed Use Of Utilitarian And Recreational Traffic.
