The Commandants House Is Located On The Fortress Of The Town Of Dömitz In The Immediate Vicinity Of The Elbe River. It Is The Only Completely Preserved Renaissance Fortress Building In Northern Germany. The Commandants House Plays A Special Role As The Lead Building For The Fortress. In Addition To The Other Buildings, Bastions And Fortifications, It Is The Most Important Individual Structure Within The Area. In Addition To The Very High Monument Value And Protection, It Has The Greatest Potential For Tourist And Cultural Uses Of The Fortress.
