As An Outstanding Architectural Example Of Local Architecture, The Fire Station Has Been On The City Of Remscheids List Of Monuments Since 1990. The Volunteer Fire Department Used The Building Until 2016, Before The City Of Remscheid Planned To Convert The Historic Fire Station Into A District Library In 2018. In September 2022, The City Of Remscheid Commissioned An Architect In An Independent Procurement Process To Provide Planning Services For Service Phases 1-4 Hoai 2021 (1St Commissioning Stage). This Architect Provided The Planning Services For Service Phases 1-4 Hoai 2021. The Plan Is To Redesign The Building Into A So-Called Third Place.
