The Interface Between Pedestrian Traffic And Public Transport Is Particularly Important In This Context. In Planning Practice, This Is Often Only Inadequately Reflected In The Design Of Street Spaces, For Example When Only Areas Of Minimum Dimensions Are Allocated In Areas With Increased Foot Traffic And Urban Planning Importance For Pedestrian Traffic. A Systematic Classification Of Pedestrian Traffic Networks Analogous To The Networks For Vehicle And Bicycle Traffic Could Support The Fulfillment Of Pedestrian Traffics Movement And Stay Requirements For Concrete Road Planning, But Has So Far Hardly Been Carried Out. The Aim Of This Research Project Is To Present And Discuss Methods For Identifying And Further Developing Pedestrian Traffic Networks. On This Basis, A Selected Method Must Be Developed For Transferable Use In Germany. There Must Be A Systematization And A Broad Presentation Of The Various Approaches To Network Development And Hierarchy As Well As The Methods Required For This. This Can Be Considered For Different Types Of Spaces, From Small Towns To Large Cities. Planning Approaches, For Example According To Efa, Or Technical Methods Such As Gis-Supported Approaches (E.G. Pedestrian Traffic Development Plan In Leipzig) Should Be Considered. Approaches From Abroad Must Also Be Taken Into Account.
