The Subject Of The Service Is The Veterinary Care Law (285/2023) A) Services Concerning Farm Animals In Accordance With Section 8 For Animals Kept For Food Or Fur Production And B) Urgent Veterinary Assistance In Accordance With Section 9.2 For Large Domestic Animals (Immediate Assessment And Treatment Required By The Animals Sudden And Serious Illness, Injury Or Worsening Of The Illness, Which Cannot Be Transferred Without The Disease Worsening Or The Animal Significant Suffering, And Killing The Animal On Animal Welfare Grounds). The Service Does Not Include The Care Of Wild Animals, But Measures According To Section 7 Of The Animal Welfare Act (693/2023) (Termination) Are Included. The City Of Turku Evaluates The Possibilities Of Producing The Service Either As Its Own Production Or As A Purchase Service. According To § 8.1 Of The Municipalities Act, A Municipality Can Organize The Tasks Stipulated By The Law Itself Or Agree To Transfer Responsibility For Organizing To Another Municipality Or A Group Of Municipalities. According To Section 50.1 Of The Municipal Act, If The Municipality Agrees In Accordance With Section 8 To Transfer The Responsibility For Organizing A Task Stipulated In The Law To Another Municipality Or A Group Of Municipalities, The Act On Public Procurement And Right-Of-Use Agreements (1397/2016), Hereinafter Referred To As The Procurement Act, Does Not Apply To The Transfer.
