Field Sampling Services In Support Of The Forest Resources Inventory Rfb The Ministry Of Natural Resources Is Issuing An Rfb For The Collection And Delivery Of Ground-Based Data For Ontario Forests, According To A Vegetation Sampling Network Protocol (Vsnp) That Is Included In The Request For Bids. Such Services Are Sought For Eight (8) Target Sampling Areas, For Which The Minimum Bid Is One (1) Such Target Sampling Area. Scope Of Work The Successful Bidder(S) Will Safely Collect Data From Predetermined Forested Locations In The Managed Forest Zone And Perform Associated Data Management And Transfer Services For A Period Of Up To One (1) Year, Without Possibility Of Extension. The Data Support Lidar (Light Detection And Ranging) Models Used To Produce Forest Inventory, Forest Growth And Yield Models, Digital Soil Mapping, And A Variety Of Status And Trends Reporting Needs. The Work Requires Measuring Four Hundred Square Metre (400 M2) Circular Field Plots In Forested Conditions Within Target Sampling Area(S) (Tsas) In The Managed Forest Zone. The Vsnp Outlines In Detail The Methods Required For Each Of Three (3) Types Of Field Plots: A, B And C. Five (5) Of The Eight (8) Tsas Available For Bid Require A Vendor To Establish And Measure New Field Plots Of These Types. Three (3) Of The Eight (8) Tsas Require A Vendor To Convert (Upgrade) Previously Established Type A And Type B Field Plots To Type C. The Number And Type Or Upgrade Of Field Plots To Be Completed In Each Tsa Is Provided Or Estimated In The Rfb. Specific Locations (Coordinates) Of Field Plots Will Be Provided Prior To A Successful Bidder(S) Developing A Work Plan For Each Tsa. A Quality Assurance And Quality Control (Qa/Qc) Framework Must Be Included In Each Work Plan And Monthly Reporting Is Required.
