Turbines And Motors – Manufacture, Supply And Maintenance Of A Gas Turbine. Stawag Operates An Extensive District Heating Network In Aachen. As Part Of The Network Expansion And The Transformation To Renewable Heat Generation, The Above-Mentioned Combined Heat And Power Plant (Hkw) Was Planned. The Installation Location Is A Former Industrial Site In The East Of Aachen. The Hkw Is A Gas Turbine Thermal Power Plant With Additional Firing. The Gas Turbine Package Forms The Central Element And Generates Electricity And Heat. The Net Electricity Is Fed Into The Public Power Grid. The Turbine Exhaust Goes Into A Waste Heat Boiler With Additional Firing, Which Produces Hot Water For The District Heating Network. The Hkw Is Mainly Used On Colder Days And Also Has A Reserve Function. A New Building Is Being Built For The Hkw. The Fuel For The Gas Turbine Is Initially Natural Gas H. In The Long Term, The Plan Is To Switch To Hydrogen. In Order To Enable Hydrogen Admixtures In The Medium Term, The Gas Turbine Package Described Here Should Be Able To Process Up To 20% H2 Content. In The Long Term, It Should Be Possible To Carry Out A Later, Optional Conversion To Pure Hydrogen Operation (100%). The Subject Of This Process Is The Production, Delivery And Future Maintenance Of A Gas Turbine Package For Generating Electricity And Heat With Approx. 14 Mw Gross Output. The Gas Turbine Package Forms Project 1 Of The Construction Project. The Other Projects (E.G. Waste Heat Boilers, Gas Compressors, Buildings) Are Planned, Tendered, Awarded And Built Separately By Stawag. The Planning And Construction Of The Further Projects Will Be Coordinated With The Gas Turbine Package. Commissioning Of The Gas Turbine Is Planned For 2029, With Acceptance Of The Entire System Planned For June 2029.
