In The Traction Power Switchgear, Decentralized Controls Record The Measured Values, Switching States And Events And Transmit Them Via The Control Levels To The Central Network Control Center In Spiez. In The Opposite Direction, Control Commands Are Sent By The Operators To The Switchgear. The Network Control System In Spiez Is Therefore Considered A Central Instrument For The Operation Of The Bls And Sbb Traction Power Networks In The Aare Valley And Upper Valais. The Hardware Of The Network Control System Is Located In The Operations Center In Spiez And A Redundant System Is Located Separately In The Switching Station In Spiez. The Systems Are Monitored And Remotely Controlled Around The Clock By The Operators From Three Control Stations. The Current Power5 System From Siemens Was Purchased In 2012, Had Its Hardware And Software Replaced In 2019 And Will Reach The End Of Its Technical Useful Life In 2027.
