Tenders are invited for Special Educator. The Rene Moawad Foundation is seeking to recruit a special educator for its project DIRASA. Project Purpose Access to quality education remains limited for children with disabilities and special educational needs, particularly in vulnerable communities between Tripoli and Minnieh-Denniyeh area. The project Dirasa seeks to promote inclusive and equitable education by providing specialized support services, capacity building, and advocacy aligned with national education policies and international frameworks such as the UNESCO Inclusive Education guidelines and the UNICEF Child-Friendly Schools framework. Job Description: To improve access, participation, retention, and learning outcomes of children with disabilities and special educational needs through inclusive education interventions and community-based support mechanisms. Responsibilities: Identify and assess children with special educational needs within the target communities. Provide individualized educational support and intervention services. Strengthen the capacity of teachers and schools to implement inclusive practices. Promote parental and community engagement in inclusive education. Advocate for disability-inclusive policies and practices at local and national levels. Provide remedial education sessions. Deliver speech, occupational, or behavioral interventions (where feasible). Supply assistive learning materials and devices. Conduct teacher training workshops on inclusive teaching strategies. Provide mentoring and classroom-based coaching. Develop inclusive education resource materials. Organize parent support groups. Conduct awareness campaigns to reduce stigma. Collaborate with local leaders and disability advocacy groups. Education: Bachelors in Special Education Bachelors in Education with a specialization in special education Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Professional Competencies: Understanding different disabilities (learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, etc.) Valid professional license. Minimum 3 years of experience working with children with special needs. Experience in NGO or community-based settings is an asset. Child Development and how children learn. Educational Psychology. Creating and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs). Classroom management techniques. Assessment and evaluation of student progress. Assistive technologies for students with disabilities. Laws and policies related to special education. Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point). Observation and assessment of student needs. Collaboration with therapists and other teachers. Using adaptive teaching tools and technology. Organization and time management. Patience and empathy. Ability to adapt teaching methods. Ability to motivate and encourage students. Critical thinking and decision-making. Ability to work with diverse learners. Emotional resilience and flexibility. Driving License. Duration: The implementation of individual sessions in this Project is starting March 2026 and will be ending in September 2026.
