Expression of Interest for Study on Women Micro Enterprise Lending - MEL Portfolio Review & Research on Data/Tools/Partners This analytical study is under the IFC India Women Finance (IWF2) project - with a focus on working on women micro enterprise lending (MEL); in particular those graduating from group (SHG/JLG) to individual loan borrowers. The study findings will help generate an implementation-ready pathway for IWF2 by mapping the MEL ecosystem and providing recommendations, tools/frameworks, and strategic partners. The activities of this study include: (a) Carrying out a detailed loan file review & end-beneficiary survey (approx. 80-120 MEL clients), including understanding the impact of MEL and lessons. (b) Identifying & mapping feasible data sources and data points that can be used to reduce transaction costs and improve underwriting, monitoring, and outcome tracking for MELs; (c) Research and recommendation on relevant partners/tools/frameworks, which can help better finance for women MEL borrowers.
