Are You A Contractor Interested In Working With Alberta Forestry And Parks For Wildfire Suppression? Agreements For Fireline And Mobile Equipment Are Now Available For The Upcoming Wildfire Season. The Forestry Division, Which Is Responsible For Wildfire Pre-Suppression And Suppression Efforts In The Forest Protection Area (Fpa) Of Alberta, Requires Contractors To Provide A Variety Of Fireline And Mobile Equipment, Complete With Competent Operators, To Assist With Wildfire Efforts.Fireline Equipment Such As Dozers, Excavators, And All-Terrain Vehicles (E.G. Hagglunds And Nodwells) Are Used On Wildfires For Constructing Fire Guard And Transporting Wildfire Crews, Equipment, And Water. Mobile Equipment Such As Tractor/Trailers, Water Trucks, Buses, And Hotshots Are Used To Transport Firefighters, Water, And Equipment. There Is No Guarantee Of Work Under The Terms And Conditions Of The Fireline And Mobile Equipment Agreement, And Contractors Are Placed On A Call Rotation List Within Their Forest Area. The Forestry Division Does Not Hire Or Employ Heavy Equipment Operators. Contactors Must Supply Competent Operators For Each Piece Of Equipment Stated In Schedule “C” – Equipment List, And Ensure They Are Equipped With The Appropriate Personal Safety Equipment. Operators Must Be At Least 18 Years Of Age And Have No Less Than 1 Year Of Experience On That Type Of Equipment. Equipment Shall Be Cleaned, Well Maintained And In Good Working Order Prior To Services Commencing.To Qualify For An Agreement, Contractors Must Provide Evidence Of A Valid Wbc, Valid Certificate Of Recognition (Cor) Or Small Employer Certificate Of Recognition (Secor), As Well As A Certificate Of Insurance (Schedule “E”) Satisfying The Requirements Of The Agreement. Payment Is Based On The Alberta Roadbuilders & Heavy Construction Association (Arhca), Equipment Rental Rates Guide. For Equipment Not Described In The Arhca Rental Rates Guide, The Alberta Wildfire Payment Directive Will Apply.To Be Put On An Equipment Rotation List, Prospective Contractors Who Meet All Requirements Of The Agreement Must Submit Documentation To Their Local Forest Area.
