The Town Of Creston (The “Town”) Is Requesting Proposals From Qualified Consultants (The “Proponent”) With Expertise In Design, Supply, Delivery And Installation Of Playground Equipment The Playground At Creston Education Centre Is Located At 617 11Th Avenue South In Creston, Bc And Has Reached The End Of Its Service Life And Requires Replacement. The Existing Playground Will Be Removed By Town Crew Prior To Construction Of The New Playground. This Project Includes Design, Supply, Delivery, And Installation Of A New Playground. The Installation Component Includes Installation Of New Playground Equipment, Construction Of Playground Border, And Supply And Installation Of Engineered Wood Fibre/Poured-In-Place Rubber Surfacing. The Removal Of The Existing Playground Structure And Wood Chips Will Be Completed By Town Crew Prior To The Scheduling Of The New Playground Installation. The Town Will Supply Equipment (Backhoe, Tractors, Packer, And Small Hand Tools), Base Material (Sand/Gravel), And Labour To Support The Installation Of The Playground During Construction. The Following Information Is Intended To Guide And Inform The Playground Equipment Design And Installation Included In Proposal Submissions: • The Playground Area Is Approximately 22 Metres X 25 Metres. • Compliance With Can/Csa-Z614 – Children’S Playspaces And Equipment, National Standard Of Canada, Intended For Children Aged 2 To 12 Years. • The Proposed Equipment Must Include One Or More Structures Which Contain Climbing And Sliding Features. • The Area Must Have Accessible Surfacing Materials (E.G. Pour-In-Place Rubber Surfacing And/Or Engineered Wood Fibre). • Playground Structures And Components That Encourage Coordination, Strength, Agility. • Playground Structures And Components That Are Inclusive To All. • Inclusion Of Inclusive Play Elements. • The Area Should Have Accessible Seating And A Shade Sail To Provide Protection From The Sun. • The Design Must Be Appropriate For Ages 2-12. • The Area Must Be Contained By A Physical Border The Total Budget For This Rfp Is $220,000 Excluding Gst.
