2025/210 Supply Of Telemetry And Geolocation Technical Equipment For The Reducing Bycatch Of Threatened Megafauna In The East Central Atlantic (Reduce) Project.The Reduce Project Is A European Project Led By The University Of Barcelona And Its Aim Is To Use An Interdisciplinary Scientific Approach And Unify The Efforts Of The Interested Parties To Reduce The Accidental Catches Of Marine Megafauna By The European Fleets Operating In The Western Region Of The Central Atlantic. The Project Is Structured Into 9 Different Work Packages. For The Correct Development Of The Project, The Acquisition Of Specialized Technical Equipment Is Essential. Specifically, The Project Requires The Acquisition Of A Wide Range Of Monitoring Devices For Both Boats And Seabirds. They Include Gps Of Various Sizes And Weights, Some With Accelerometers, Radar Or Ais Receiver To Capture Interactions With Ships, As Well As Models With Solar Power Or 4G Or Satellite Transmission That Allow Real-Time Or Long-Term Monitoring. The Contracting Of These Supplies Responds To The Need To Achieve The Research Objectives Of The Project Reducing Bycatch Of Threatened Megafauna In The East Central Atlantic (Reduce) Directed By Dr. Jacob González-Solís Bou, Professor Of The Department Of Evolutionary Biology, Ecology And Environmental Sciences Of The University Of Barcelona. The Project, With Grant Agreement No. 101135583 And Funded By The European Commission Horizon-Cl6-2023-Biodiv-01 Its Main Objective Is To Use An Interdisciplinary Scientific Approach And Unify The Efforts Of Stakeholders To Reduce Bycatch Of Marine Fauna And To Inform And Promote Sustainable Fisheries Management In The Eastern Central Atlantic Ocean.
