Beaver Emergency Services Commission (Besc) Invites Proposals From An Executive Search Consultant For The Recruitment Of Its Regional Emergency Manager. The Beaver Emergency Services Commission Is A Regional Partnership, Established By An Order In Council, Between The Towns Of Tofield, Viking, Villages Of Holden, Ryley And Beaver County. The Beaver Emergency Services Commission Manages The Administration And Oversees Operations Of Volunteer Fire Departments Tofield, Ryley, Holden, Bruce, Viking And Kinsella. Fire Department Operations In Each Of The Towns And Villages Are Managed By A District Fire Chief And Many Dedicated Volunteer Firefighters. Our Fleet Consists Of 8 Pumpers, 4 Tankers, 7 Brush Trucks, 2 Rescue Units 3 Utility Vehicles, 2 Quads And 2 Side By Sides. Commission Headquarters Are Located At 4924-53 Avenue In Viking, Alberta. Besc Is Looking To Possibly Relocate The Office To A More Centrally Located, New Fire Hall In The Future. Established In 2010, The Beaver Emergency Services Commission (Besc) Has A Mandate Of Fire Services And Emergency Management Services To Our Municipal Partners. The Regional Partnership, The First Of Its Kind In Alberta, Consists Of Six Local Fire Departments With Approximately 100 Volunteer Firefighters. Collectively, They Respond To More Than 300 Calls Annually. Besc Manages The Operation Of Volunteer Fire Departments In Each Of The Towns Of Tofield And Viking, The Villages Of Ryley And Holden, And The Hamlets Of Bruce And Kinsella. Level Of Service Varies From Level 3 In Tofield, Holden And Viking (Full Fire Suppression, Rescue Efforts, And First Aid Application), To Level 2 In Ryley (Full Fire Suppression And First Aid Application), And Level 1 In Bruce And Kinsella (Grass Fire Suppression And First Aid Application). Individual Fire Department Operations Are Managed By A District Fire Chief And Many Dedicated Volunteer Firefighters.The Purpose Of This Request For Proposal Is To Engage A Consultant To Providerecruitment Services For The Position Of Regional Emergency Manager.1. Assist Besc Board In Updating The Job Description; 2. Prepare And Place Job Posting, Website And Social Media Postings, Locally,Regionally And Provincially;3. Personally Reach Out To Potential Candidates (E.G. Known Individuals, Referrals, Or Staff And Board Suggestions);4. Accept And Review Candidate Resumes Or Cvs;5. Conduct Preliminary Screening Of Candidates;6. Short-List Candidates According To Established Criteria (To Be Discussed With The Board);7. Prepare Interview Questions;8. Schedule Interviews Of Short-Listed Candidates With Board;9. Attend And Participate In Interviews;10. Assist Board With Evaluation Of Interviewees;11. Conduct Reference Checks (Including Criminal Reference Check And Drivers Abstract) Of Preferred Candidates;12. Contact Successful Candidate And Assist Board With Negotiation Of Offer Ofemployment. The Consultant Shall Maintain Timely Communication With Board On A Minimum Monthly Basis Via Written Progress Reports Submitted To The Board.The Consultant Shall Meet With Board No Less Than Twice During The Recruitment Process, And At Least Once For An Introductory Meeting And At The Candidate Short-List Stage
