Building On Previous Work, The Ihfg Will Realize A Novel, Self-Contained And Transportable Quantum Light Source For Realizing Quantum Communication Experiments On Fiber Links: All Necessary Devices Will Be Installed In A Special Rack So That The Setup Can Be Integrated Into Standard Telecommunications Infrastructures. One Of The Components Will Be A Self-Contained Closed-Loop System That Will Operate Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors. These Detectors Must Operate At Telecommunication Wavelengths (C-Band, Centered At 1550 Nm) With High Detection Efficiency, Low Dark Count And High Maximum Achievable Count Rate. The System Must Be Able To Be Operated Without Additional External Devices. The System Must Be Able To Run Continuously For More Than 4 Weeks
