Tenders are invited for Procurement and Supply of Local Goat Feed (Fodder). The Service The tasks to be performed by the supplier is within the scope of Activity 2: Local Goats and Fodder Distribution under the RELIEF-SBA project and shall be carried out in close cooperation with the RELIEF-SBA project team within the project area The supplier shall ensure the provision of high-quality, nutritionally balanced local goat feed (fodder) suitable for small ruminants and compliant with nutritional and safety standards. 2.1 Feed Supply and Technical Requirements The supplier will provide goat feed that meets the following minimum criteria: Feed quantity 135 tons, sufficient to cover approximately one month of feeding requirements, calculated at approximately 11.5 kg/day/animal for up to 3,000 goats, primarily intended to cover goats procured under this project, while also considering existing livestock owned by targeted households Balanced formulation including appropriate combination of roughages and/or concentrates, For 1 ton; The feed consists of 1,000 kg, divided into 500 kg of concentrates and 500 kg of roughages. The 500 kg concentrate mixture is composed of: corn (150 kg), barley (105 kg), wheat bran (100 kg), soybean meal (115 kg), sodium bicarbonate (5 kg), salt (5 kg), premix (7.5 kg), protected fat (12.5 kg), and toxin binder (0.50 kg). This formulation ensures a balanced supply of energy, protein, minerals, and rumen stabilizers to support maintenance, milk production, and overall herd health. The remaining 500 kg consists of alfalfa hay (in bales), serving as the primary roughage source to provide sufficient fiber and maintain proper rumen function and digestive health in sheep and goats. Feed formulated to meet energy, protein, fiber, and micronutrient requirements of small ruminants Feed adapted to physiological needs of animals, including lactating and growing goats Free from mold, contamination, toxins, and foreign materials, Free from harmful aflatoxin levels Moisture content within acceptable levels Produced using safe and traceable raw materials Suitable for animal consumption and compliant with FAO and local veterinary standards The RELIEF-SBA project team will conduct random sampling and laboratory testing of feed prior to distribution to ensure compliance with nutritional and quality standards. 2.2 Supplier Responsibilities The supplier shall: Provide only high-quality feed suitable for goat consumption Ensure feed formulation meets small ruminant nutritional requirements Ensure proper production, storage, and handling conditions Coordinate with the project team for inspection, sampling, and quality verification Provide feed in clean, sealed, and properly labeled bags Ensure feed is free from contamination, mold, and spoilage Provide transportation of feed to designated delivery sites when required Replace any feed batch rejected due to quality or safety concerns Ensure proper storage and handling to prevent deterioration during transport Provide an official laboratory test certificate confirming the feeds quality and certifying that it is free from harmful contaminants 2.3 Coordination and Field Verification Field visits and inspections will be conducted to: Verify feed quality and compliance with technical criteria Conduct random sampling and laboratory testing Ensure compliance with nutritional requirements Verify storage and handling conditions Coordinate procurement and delivery logistics Feed will be approved by the RELIEF-SBA project team prior to acceptance and distribution.
