Work Detail

Tenders are invited for Evaluation of the Project to Support the Municipality of Ndjamena for Flood Risk Management and Strengthening Climate Resilience Project Description The PACIN project is an urban and peri-urban project with a 27-month operational duration, funded by AFD with a budget of EUR 1.5 million. It is implemented jointly by the Central Municipality of NDjamena (through its Project Coordination Unit), CRT, and decentralized state institutions. The project started on 15 January 2024 and is scheduled to end on 31 April 2026. Following a No Objection approval from AFD, certain activities under Result 1 were modified due to overlap with a World Bank-funded project in NDjamena, leading to budget reallocation and creation of new activities. Overall Objective Contribute to reducing flood risks and impacts in urban and peri-urban areas of NDjamena. Expected Results · R1: A volunteer committee is established within the Municipality of NDjamena to manage flood prevention, preparedness, and response actions · R2: Decentralized local authorities are strengthened in flood preparedness and response · R3: Resilience of urban and peri-urban communities to pluvial and fluvial floods is strengthened · R4: The response capacity of the Red Cross of Chad is strengthened (Activities R1R4 translated faithfully as provided omitted here for brevity if you want a shorter version, but can be included in full on request.) 2.
