Tenders Are Invited For Kontiomäki – Vuokatti Rail Section Passenger Traffic Preliminary Survey And Project Evaluation

Kajaani University Of Applied Sciences Oy Is Requesting Bids For The Preparation Of A Passenger Traffic Preliminary Study Of The Kontiomäki–Vuokatti Railway Section And The Related Project Evaluation. The Goal Of The Project Is To Assess The Feasibility Of Opening Passenger Traffic, The Effects And The Necessary Additional Investments, Including The Location Of The New Stand And The Space It Needs And Functionality In Vuokatti, Safety Equipment And Track Technical Needs, And The Organization Of Operational Readiness Maintenance Activities. The Work Is Connected To The Ongoing Electrification Construction Planning. The Project Continues And Complements The Preliminary Study Of The Electrification Of The Vuokatti–Kontiomäki Railway Section (Väylävirastos Publications 8/2024) And Its Project Evaluation (Vj 9/2024), Where The Emphasis Was On Freight Traffic. The Work To Be Tendered Now Focuses On Passenger Traffic And Its Conditions. In The Procurement To Be Tendered, The Guidelines Of The Norwegian Railways Agency Are Followed (E.G. Norwegian Railways Agencys Guides 1/2023). The Pre-Examination Phase Includes Two Phases. First, The Actual Preliminary Investigation And The Accompanying Dialogue With Traficom Will Be Carried Out. The Project Evaluation Starts In Parallel With The Preparation Of The Preliminary Report In Such A Time Frame As Is Possible. The Preliminary Study Covers All Measures Necessary For The Whole, E.G.• Actual Passenger Traffic Arrangements,• Traffic Safety On The Track And• Other Necessary Changes To The Infrastructure. The Procurement Is Described In More Detail In Appendix 1. Based On The Tender, Kajaani Amk Also Has The Option To Purchase Other Studies Or Additional Work Related To The Whole As An Option.
