Research Services - Practical Procedure For Assessing Heat Hazards When Working Outdoors - Heat Hazards When Working Outside. Given Climate Change, Higher Temperatures During Hot Periods Lead To Greater Physical Strain And More Heat Stress. This Applies Not Only To Classic Outdoor Work (E.G. (Horticultural) Construction, Agriculture), But Also To Outdoor Activities That Have Previously Received Less Attention (E.G. In School/After-School Care, Daycare). Outdoor Activities Also Involve A Combination Of Exposure (Heat, Uv Radiation, Precipitation, Wind, Etc.). The Committee For Workplaces (Asta) Has Created A Technical Rule For Workplaces Asr A5.1, Which Has Been In Force Since August 28, 2025. A Practice-Oriented “Simplified Procedure For Assessing Heat Hazards” Was Also Developed. This Has Brought Together Numerous Influencing Factors (E.G. Air Temperature, Humidity, Solar Radiation, Work Severity, Clothing) In A Simple Scaling And Has Not Yet Been Tested In Practice. Thats Why The Asta Initially Published It As Recommendation Of The Committee For Workplaces (Asta) - Assessment Of The Risks From Heat And Measures At Workplaces In Workplaces That Are Not Enclosed On All Sides And At Workplaces Outdoors. The Aim Of This Project Is To Review The Practice-Oriented, Simplified Procedure For Assessing Heat Hazards And Selecting Measures For Outdoor Activities On The Basis Of Evident Scientific Methods, Adapting It If Necessary And Carrying Out Exemplary Testing And Validation In Field Trials. Particular Attention Must Be Paid To The Aspect Of Practical Suitability And Acceptance By Those Involved In Occupational Health And Safety. The Term Should Be A Maximum Of 24 Months.
