The Baumheide District Is Located In The Eastern Urban Area Of Bielefeld And Is Facing Major Spatial And Social Development Tasks That Require Qualified Urban Planning Action In The Sense Of: Of Section 171E Baugb (Social City Measures). In Order To Meet These Tasks, An Integrated Urban Development Concept (Insek) Was Developed For Baumheide. In 2017, The Insek Baumheide Was Approved By The Bielefeld City Council And A Social City Area Was Designated In Accordance With Section 171E Paragraph 3 Of The Baugb (See Fig. 1). Due To The New Urban Development Funding Guidelines (2023), The Insek Baumheide Will Be Reorganized In 2026. Baumheide Is A Heterogeneous District. The Urban Renewal Area Covers A Total Area Of Around 4.35 Km2 With Around 8,000 Inhabitants. A Core Area Is The District Center Around The Leisure Center, Which Has A Wide Variety Of Urban Development Problems. A Central Measure Of The Insek Baumheide Is The Development And Redesign Of The Neue Mitte Baumheide. The Measure Is Intended To Redefine And Upgrade The Public Space Around The Baumheide Leisure Center (Fzz), The Marktkauf And The Light Rail Stop In The Center Of The District. A Sustainable Further Development Of The Area Is Planned, Among Other Things By Upgrading The Open Spaces For A Better Quality Of Stay, Redesigning The Light Rail Stop And Creating A Mobility Station At Rabenhof, With The Aim Of Making The District Center More Tangible For Everyone And Reducing Fear And Barriers.
