Tenders are invited for ARGONAUT Coarse Sun Sensor (CSS) OHB System AG, a subsidiary of the European space and technology group OHB SE, is acting as subcontractor to Thales Alenia Space (TAS-I) who has been contracted by the European Space Agency (ESA) as prime Contractor for the realization of the ARGONAUT mission. Under its subcontract, OHB is responsible for the EPS, TT&C and GNC subsystems up to flight readiness. The objective of the present procurement is the selection of the subcontractor for the Argonaut LDE Coarse Sun Sensors (CSS). The CSS is used within the Argonaut GNC as attitude sensor. The Coarse Sun Sensors are used as navigation sensors for allowing estimation of the sun vector in body frame in the following modes:? Sun Acquisition Mode after launcher separation for initial sun acquisition and maintenance Safe Mode after failure condition for safety sun acquisition and maintenance of power and thermal safe attitude The procurement of the CSS will be conducted in line with the ESA Best Practices for the Selection of Subcontractors by Prime Contractors in the frame of ESAs Major Procurements (reference ESA BEST PRACTICES IPC(2012)65, rev.2). Notwithstanding the complete list of countries identified in the Special Provision for visibility purposes, the ITT letter of invitation may contain a dedicated set of geographical return requirements/targets to be considered.
