Tenders are invited for Provision of Water Trucking and Distribution ASAL Youth Development Association is a national, non-governmental, non-political, and nonprofit organization implementing humanitarian and development interventions across Somaliland. ASAL with support from SHF is implementing a project; Emergency Cash + Livestock Support for drought-affected rural pastoral and agropastoral communities, Somaliland. Activity Background As a consequence of the prevailing drought, Communities in Hawd and Maroodi-jeh regions in Somaliland are currently facing a serious lack of access to clean water for drinking and Water for livestock consumption. ASAL, as an emergency lifesaving intervention under the SHF funded project plans to undertake an emergency water trucking for livestock consumption activity in villages including Balli-Case, Hunguri-Goroyo, Magaalo Xaali, Laanta Qalloocda, Bidhiiqa, Lafla-Mood, Dhimbil-Riyaale, Hunduli, Cadaroosh and Lafta-Faraweyne in Maroodi Jeh and Hawd Regions with a target of 1800 households. The water trucking for livestock consumption will involve the provision of 3024,000 litres of water to support livestock survival for 1800 agro-pastoral households over a period of 56 days or 2 times (2 months). To ensure the required amount of water is delivered within the specified timeframe, ASAL will engage water tankers of the right volume/quantity (378 water tankers) of each 40 barrel or 8,000 liters. The ASAL project team will ensure the water tankers are inspected to ensure that tanks are clean have not been used for transporting petroleum products recently. Additionally, all water points that will be used as the source of water trucking will be assessed to examine the water quality in terms of color, test, and smell for the purpose of ensuring the water quality is good before the water trucking is started. Any water that does not qualify this physical quality benchmarks will be not allowed and will be disqualified and the vendor asked to re-truck clean water. ASAL team will be making field visits to the water delivery points to ensure compliance of the vendor with the water trucking requirements. In every location or point of water delivery, ASAL in collaboration with the communities have established water management committees comprising of 5 persons to oversee the water delivery (the right amount and quality have been delivered per trip and in overall), the registered households get the right amount of water they are entitled to, ensure clean storage facilities, and address any potential conflicts that may arise during the water distribution. Truck and herein to contain clean drinkable water from borehole water point, the quantity of the water will be examined physically through test, adore and color. Any water that does not qualify this physical quality benchmarks will be not allowed and will be disqualified to re-truck clean water. ASAL have an active supervision on daily basis and 5 community members of each site lure tankers through target households. ASAL invites suppliers from eligible potential bidders and able to undertake water trucking in the targeted community in Balli-Case, Hunguri-Goroyo, Magaalo Xaali, Laanta Qalloocda, Bidhiiqa, LaflaMood, Dhimbil-Riyaale, Hunduli, Cadaroosh and Lafta-Faraweyne in Maroodi Jeh and Hawd Regions.
