Tenders are invited for Market Sounding Exercise for the Planned Procurement of a Utility Scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Procurement of a Utility Scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Malakal substation. Scope of Services: Detailed design, supply and installation of 6 MW and 6 MWh containerized battery solution and energy management system to connect to and integrate with the Palau SCADA system and provide reliability support to the PPUC grid. Functional requirements include grid forming and fast frequency response capabilities. Providing O&M services over an initial period of 2 years with a provision to provide extended services over the battery lifetime. Providing training to PPUC on operating the battery. Description : Detailed design, supply and installation of 6 MW and 6 MWh containerized battery solution and energy management system to connect to and integrate with the Palau SCADA system and provide reliability support to the PPUC grid. Functional requirements include grid forming and fast frequency response capabilities. The battery with an expected capacity of 6 MW/ 6 MWh will enable PPUC to enhance reliability in the distribution network and manage renewable energy integration as it works to achieve its renewable energy targets. Purpose of the Market Sounding: Through this exercise, ADB seeks to: Gather insights from potential suppliers on supply options Assess readiness for supply and deployment in a short period from contract signing Gather feedback on operation and maintenance protocols to maintain the battery and services that could be provided to PPUC to facilitate proper utilization.
