Prorail Has An Agreement For National Measurement Of Relative Track Geometry And Overhead Line Quality. As Part Of The Latter, Contact Wire Thickness Measurements Are Taken At High Speed. These Measurements Largely Meet The Need. In Addition, Prorail Needs Contact Wire Thickness Measurements At Low Speed. In Recent Years, A Solution Has Been Sought To Obtain Reliable Contact Wire Thickness Measurements With Which The Risk Areas For Contact Wire Breaks Can Be Determined. Given The Reported Increase In Contact Wire Breaks And Their Impact, The Importance Of Addressing This Structurally Is Increasing. It Has Become Apparent That Several Solutions Are Available In The Market For Obtaining Reliable Contact Wire Thickness.
