Welthungerhilfe (Whh) Is One Of The Leading Non-Governmental Organizations Working In The Fields Of Humanitarian Aid And Development. Established In 1962 As The German Section Of The “Campaign Against Hunger”, Whh Aims To Eradicate Hunger, Enabling Every Individual To Exercise Their Right To A Self-Determined Life, With Dignity And Justice, Without Suffering From Hunger Or Poverty. Since 1997, Whh Has Been Operating In The Democratic Republic Of Congo (Drc), Mainly In The East Of The Country, With Project Offices In Goma, Bunia, Kirumba, Mahagi And Nobili As Well As Sub-Offices In Kpandroma, And Lubero. The Complex Context Of The Drc, Marked By Multiple Challenges Such As Armed Conflicts, Health And Climatic Hazards And Limited Access To Food Resources, Requires Strategic And Well-Coordinated Interventions. Food Systems Are Important In Defining Our Diet And Economic Development Especially At The Community Level. Increasing Attention Is Being Paid To Their Processing, Aiming To Make Nutritious Foods More Accessible. At The 2021 Un Food Systems Summit, More Than 100 Countries Committed To This Transformation, Highlighting The Importance Of Healthy Diets To Combat Malnutrition. However, The Complexity Of These Systems And The Lack Of Clear Guidelines Make It Difficult To Implement Effective Changes. Whh Plans To Carry Out, By February 2026 At The Latest, An Assessment Of The Food Systems In The Territories Of Beni, Lubero, Masisi And Rutshuru In North Kivu, Djugu, Irumu And Mahagi In Ituri And In The Health Zones As Described In The Table Below:
