The grants will be output-based with the release of funds being made in tranches upon the achievement of milestones specified in the grant agreement between the PMCU and the beneficiarys groups or the individual entrepreneur. The group or the individual entrepreneur will receive an initial advance of the grant amount, and subsequently lodge claims for further payments as each milestone is attained. The project activities funded should be market-oriented and friendly to the environment. a. Production activities that support small ruminants, indigenous chicken and apiculture b. Marketing; Value addition of products along small ruminants, Apiculture, improved local poultry value chains, and activities supporting the value chain (transport, aggregation, cold chain) c. Information, communication and technology. (ICT4D) KeLCoPs overall goal is to contribute to the Governments agricultural transformation agenda by increasing rural smallholder farmers incomes and enhancing food and nutrition security. This goal will be achieved through the projects development objective of increasing the incomes of 110,000 poor livestock-keeping and pastoralist householdswith a particular focus on youth and womenin an environmentally sustainable manner across selected areas in ten participating counties.
