Tenders are invited for Translation and Proofreading of a Study on Womens Participation in Trade Unions in Lebanon. RDFL has produced a short analytical study examining the key obstacles to womens participation in trade unions in Lebanon. The study is based on qualitative research and aims to support advocacy efforts, programmatic interventions, and policy dialogue with relevant stakeholders. To ensure high linguistic and editorial quality, the study requires: Professional proofreading of the original Arabic version. Translation into English. Professional proofreading of the English version. 2. Objective The objective of this assignment is to ensure that both the Arabic and English versions of the study are clear, accurate, consistent, and publication-ready, while preserving the original meaning, analytical depth, and terminology. 3. Scope of Work The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks: A. Arabic Proofreading Proofread the Arabic version for language accuracy, clarity, grammar, punctuation, and style. Improve flow and readability without altering the meaning or analytical content. Ensure consistency in terminology related to labor rights, trade unions, and gender equality. B. Translation (Arabic to English) Translate the final Arabic version into clear, accurate, and professional English. Maintain the analytical tone and technical terminology of the original text. 3. Deliverables One proofread Arabic version of the study (Word format). One translated and proofread English version of the study (Word format). One round of revisions for each language based on feedback from the organization. 5. Duration The assignment is expected to be completed within [4] working days from the date of contract signature. 6. Required Qualifications Proven experience in proofreading Arabic research or analytical texts. Proven experience in translation and proofreading of English research or policy documents. Excellent command of Arabic and English. Familiarity with labor rights, trade unions, gender issues, or social policy is a strong asset. Previous experience working with NGOs or international organizations is preferred.
