The Client Is The Ministry Of Justice And Emergency Preparedness. The Government Has Set Up A Police Role Committee To Investigate The Role Of The Police In Society. The Committee Shall Contribute To Defining And Clarifying The Role Of The Police, Through Thorough Principled Assessments Of Central Dilemmas And Competing Values That Follow From The Polices Broad Social Mission. The Purpose Of The Acquisition Is To Give The Police Roles Committee A Good Basis For Assessment And Knowledge To Assess The Future Division Of Tasks For The Polices Task Portfolio. The Police In Norway Have An Extensive And Varied Set Of Tasks, Far Wider Than What Is Common In Many Other Countries. This Broad Portfolio Has Been The Subject Of Analyzes And Assessments In Several Key Documents And Studies In Recent Years. An Important Part Of The Police Roles Committees Mission Is To Examine The Current Task Portfolio For The Police And Assess Which Division Of Tasks Will Be Most Effective Overall In The Future. It Is For These Assessments That The Committee Now Wishes To Obtain A Knowledge Base. The Project Consists Of Three Parts: 1. Review The Current Task Portfolio And Assess The Use Of Resources And The Appropriateness Of The Police Doing The Tasks, As Well As Investigate Which Other Actor(S) Could Have Been Responsible For The Tasks, Including Assessing The Cost To Society. 2. A Written Presentation Of What Research And Experience-Based Knowledge Say About How The Polices Broad Portfolio Of Tasks Affects The Performance Of The Polices Core Tasks. 3. Consider Different Alternatives For Which Distribution Of Tasks Will Be Most Effective As A Society The Final Delivery Deadline For The Agreement Is 31.05.26.
