The Chemical And Veterinary Investigation Office Rhine-Ruhr-Wupper (Cvua-Rrw) Is An Institution Under Public Law (Aör) That Was Established On January 1, 2009. The Cvuarrw Is Jointly Sponsored By The State Of North Rhine-Westphalia And The Cities Of Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen, Krefeld, Mülheim An Der Ruhr, Oberhausen, Remscheid, Solingen, Wuppertal And The Districts Of Mettmann And Wesel. The Cvua-Rrw Operates As An Official Laboratory In The Area Of Consumer Health Protection. The Cvua-Rrw Also Examines Animal Carcasses, Animal Carcass Parts And Other Samples From Domestic, Farm And Wild Animals To Detect Animal Diseases And As Part Of Animal Protection. The Cvua-Rrw Is Currently Based In The Company Building At Deutscher Ring 100 In Krefeld. At The Krefeld Location, Part Of The Building Dates From The 1960S And An Extension From 2010. The Existing Building Was Used For The Supply Technology. There Is An Urgent Need For Modernization And Expansion. According To A Feasibility Study, This Is Not Affordable At The Current Location, So A New Administration And Laboratory Building Is Necessary. A Plot Of Land In Krefeld Measuring Approximately 20,000 Square Meters Has Been Provisionally Reserved For This Purpose. The New Building, Gross Floor Area Without Underground Parking Approx. 19,000 Sqm, Is To Be Built By An Investor And Rented By The Cvua-Rrw. The Commissioning Is Carried Out Gradually In Stages 1 To 3.
