There Is A Need To Guarantee An Adequate State Of Operation And Operability Of The Protective Equipment To Intervene In Harmful Atmospheres Used By The Staff Of The Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium (Cegc). For The Actions In Which Firefighters Must Intervene, The Use Of Respiratory And Protective Equipment Is Necessary, Due To The Absence Of Oxygen And The Presence Of Smoke And Gases That Are Toxic Or Harmful To Health, Conditions That Are Generated In Fires, In Confined Areas Or As A Consequence Of The Existence Of Dangerous Materials. The Purpose Of This Contract Is To Establish The Necessary Review, Repair And Maintenance Actions For Self-Contained Breathing Equipment (Scba) And Complementary Protective Equipment, Considering That The Cegc Does Not Have The Human And Material Resources Necessary To Carry Out This Task. The Reviews Of The Aforementioned Protective Equipment, Which Corresponds To Category Iii (Equipment Intended To Protect Against Serious, Fatal Or Irreversible Risks Without The User Being Able To Discover Its Immediate Effect In Time), Must Comply With The Periodicities Indicated By The Manufacturer, Including Carrying Out The Tests And Replacing The Materials That Are Specified In Their Testing Protocols. In This Particular Case, All The Equipment Included In This Contract Has Been Manufactured By The Dräger Company. For All These Reasons, It Is Necessary To Hire A Service For The Review And Maintenance Of The Cegcs Self-Contained Breathing And Protection Equipment In Harmful Atmospheres.
