Tenders are invited for Training of Womens/volunteer Group on Local Reusable Sanitary Pad Production Access to hygiene products remains a challenge for many women and girls in South Sudan, particularly in rural and hazard-prone areas. This training aims to build the capacity of womens/volunteer groups to produce affordable, locally made reusable sanitary pads, improving hygiene outcomes, menstrual hygiene management (MHM). To enhance technical capacity SSRC is seeking external expertise to conduct comprehensive training on local sanitary pad production. 2. Objectives Build local, climate-resilient production capacity for affordable menstrual pads. Create income-generating opportunities for women and marginalized groups. Improve menstrual health management, school attendance, and productivity during climate shocks. Establish a supply chain that remains functional during floods and droughts. 3. Scope of Work The consultant/trainer will be responsible for: A. Training Design Develop a culturally appropriate curriculum covering: Reusable sanitary pad design and sewing techniques Hygiene and quality control standards Business skills: pricing, packaging, marketing B. Training Delivery Facilitate interactive workshops for 10 women/volunteers for 5 days. Use hands-on demonstrations, group work, and visual aids. Ensure gender-sensitive and inclusive facilitation. C. Materials and Tools Identify and source locally available materials (e.g., cotton, absorbent fabric, oils, lye etc). Recommend the right starter kits to be provided for the participants by SSRC. D. Post-Training Support Offer mentorship for 12 months post-training. 4. Expected Outcomes By the end of the training, participants should: Produce high-quality sanitary pads independently. Understand basic hygiene and product safety standards. Demonstrate knowledge of small business principles. Be able to replicate and teach others in their communities. 5. Deliverables Training curriculum and materials Daily attendance and activity reports Final training report with: Summary of activities Participant feedback Recommendations for sustainability Monitoring and evaluation plan (pre/post-tests, follow-up indicators) 6. Qualifications of Trainer Proven experience in sanitary making and textile-based vocational training Knowledge of menstrual hygiene management (MHM) Experience working with womens groups and vulnerable populations Strong facilitation and communication skills Familiarity with local languages and cultural norms 7. Timeline Preparation: 1 week Training delivery: 5 days Post-training mentorship: 48 weeks Final submission of report: upon completion of training. 8. Location Training will be conducted in SSRC- Kapoeta Branch 9. Who will be involved?
