Tenders are invited for Provision of Engineering Support for LDACS/DME Compatibility Preliminary Test Campaign EUROCONTROL is launching a campaign of preliminary laboratory tests to assess the compatibility between the L-band Digital Aeronautical Communications System (LDACS) and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) systems. These tests are a critical step in validating the coexistence of LDACS with legacy DME infrastructure, supporting future frequency management and regulatory decisions for European airspace. The preliminary tests will focus on identifying the conditions under which LDACS transmissions may affect DME interrogator and transponder receivers, both in the absence and presence of representative Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) environments (including DME EPE and Link 16 signals). The results of this preliminary test camapign will drive the scope and design of subsequent main compatibility tests that will be carried on in a later step of the proces . This call for tender is intended to cover, in particular, the set of tests related to interrogator testing on board. Other stakeholders are responsible for, or have already addressed, the transponder part for the ground equipment. Technical subject matter: This Call for tenders concerns the planning and execution of preliminary compatibility tests between the LDACS (L-band Digital Aeronautical Communications System) and DME (Distance Measuring Equipment) systems. The primary objective is to assess the potential impact of LDACS transmissions on the operational performance of DME interrogator receivers. The preliminary tests are designed to identify the LDACS signal levels and frequency scenarios that could cause degradation of DME performance, both in the absence and presence of representative radio frequency interference (RFI) environments, such as DME EPE and Link 16 signals. The results of these preliminary tests will be used to define and optimize the scope of the main compatibility test campaign, ensuring that future LDACS deployments do not adversely affect the safety and reliability of DME-based navigation services Tender Link : http://www.eurocontrol.int/procurement
