City Of Würzburg - Wvv - Wsb Würzburger Liefer- Und Verkehrs-Gmbh (Wvv) Is The Leading Service Provider For Energy, Transport And The Environment In The Region. The City Of Würzburg Is The 100 Percent Owner. With Future-Oriented Infrastructure Measures, The Wvv Makes A Significant Contribution To Maintaining And Increasing The Quality Of Life In Würzburg. Wvv Was Founded In 1965, Is Wholly Owned By The City Of Würzburg And Is A Group With Several Subsidiaries. Würzburger Straßenbahn Gmbh (Wsb) Is A Subsidiary Of Wvv. Shareholders: Wvv 74% And City Of Würzburg 26%. For Würzburg Residents, The Straba Tram Has Been A Safe And Reliable Form Of Transport And A Familiar Part Of The City For Over 125 Years. 2. Reason And Goal For Decades, The City Of Würzburg And The Wsb Have Been Considering Opening Up The Frauenland District By Tram And Connecting It To The City Center. A Schematic Route Network Plan For The Tram In Its Final State Was Already Developed In The Transport Development Plan (Vep) For The Greater Würzburg Area From 1993/1995. According To The Presentation At The Time, Frauenland And Hubland Were To Be Connected To The Existing Network By Tram Line 6. The Vep Also Demonstrates The Need For Network Expansion In Terms Of Traffic Technology. The Framework Plan Approved In 2010 Provides For Access By A Tram. Extension Of The Frauenland - Hubland Tram Line The Planned Tram Route Connects The Existing Frauenland District, The Existing Am Hubland University Facilities And The New Hubland District With Its New University Facilities. The Planned Project Is Based On An Overall Concept Coordinated Between Local Public Transport And Private Transport To Strengthen Public Transport And Relieve The Burden On The Frauenland District From Private Transport. The Tram Should Accommodate More Individual Traffic Than Before, Which Has A Destination Or Source In The Existing And Newly Planned Districts That Will Be Connected To The Tram In The Future. The Arrangement Of The New Tram Line To Hubland Is Intended To Create A Fast, Barrier-Free And Comfortable Connection To The City Center Of Würzburg And The Main Train Station With Appropriate Transfer Options. The Planned Project Involves The Construction Of A New Double-Track Tram Line With The Associated Contact Lines And Other Operational Facilities (Stops, Signaling Systems, Rectifier Stations) As Well As The Necessary Renovation Work On The Affected Streets. The Total Length Of The Route Extension Measures Approx. 5,500 M. Location And Construction Area Of ​​The Entire Route The Planning Area Includes The Center Of Würzburg. The Route Is Divided Into The Following Sections: 1. Theaterstrasse - Rennweg 2. Balthasar-Neumann-Promenade 3. Ottostrasse / Brüder-Scholl-P
