Environmental Services – Assignment For Services Related To Ecological Measures. The Assignment Concerns The Implementation Of Ecological Measures (Such As Inventory, Translocation And Monitoring Of Certain Animal Species), The Coordination Of Activities Related To Tree Felling, And Various Additional Tasks. The Necessary Actions Regarding Ecological Mitigation Measures For The Population Of The Garden Dormouse In The Project Area Of The Dbfm Project R0 North – Zone Zaventem Must Be Carried Out Prior To The Felling And Execution Works For The Redevelopment Of The Motorway In This Project Area. These Ecological Mitigation Measures Must Enable The Existing Population To Survive The Duration Of The Construction Works And The Regrowth Period Of The Habitat (Woody Vegetation Along The Motorway Infrastructure). These Fauna Mitigation Measures Are Required Under The Grup ‘Spatial Redevelopment Of The Brussels Ring (R0) – Northern Section’ And Pursuant To The Species Decree. The Permit Application For The Redevelopment Of R0 North Phase 2 Zone Zaventem Includes The Ecological Mitigation Plan And The Species Assessment. The Relevant Sections For This Specification Can Be Found In The Annex. The Aforementioned Felling Works Form Part Of The Preparatory Works For The Dbfm Project R0 North – Zone Zaventem. These Are The Subject Of A Separate Contract And Are Described In Part 4 Of These Specifications. Tenderers Are Informed That The Client Will Receive An Opinion From The Institute For Nature And Forest Research (Inbo) In December 2025 Regarding The Approach To The Ecological Measures In These Specifications. This Opinion Will Be Communicated To The Tenderers By Means Of A Corrigendum – For Information Purposes. The Assignment Concerns 7 Capture Locations: 5 Near The R0xe19 Machelen Interchange, And 2 In The South Near The R0xe40 Sint-Stevens-Woluwe Interchange, Where As Many Individuals As Possible Must Be Captured. The Capture Must Take Place Over Two Working Years. The Eco-Work Zones/Capture Locations Scheduled For A Given Year Must Be Cleared By 31 August Of That Year. One Or More Release Sites Must Be Prepared For Releasing The Captured Individuals. The Client Deliberately Chooses To Include The Various Actions Relating To The Preparation Of Release Sites, The Captures And Monitoring Of The Garden Dormouse In One Specification, Given The Overlaps And Synergies This Allows. Interested Parties That Only Have Expertise In One Of The Aforementioned Components Are Reminded That They May Engage Subcontractors Or Form A Consortium For The Execution Of This Assignment. The Applicable Legal Framework Includes The Nature Decree, The Species Decree, And The Translocation Form (Anb). During The Works, The Contractor Must Comply With The Provisions Set Out In Vlarem I And Ii.
