Expression of Interest for Leveraging Satellite Imagery to Enhance Smallholder Credit in Colombia CGAP is recruiting a vendor that will support our local partner in Colombia. Our partner is an AgFinTech (from now on referred to as The Partner), offering working capital and investment loans to farmers and agribusinesses engaged in various AVCs like coffee, fruits and vegetables. The scale of their current operations result in 500 active clients, with a cumulative portfolio of about USD 3 million. The Partner is currently a market leader in the development of agriculture credit risk models that leverage satellite imagery, crop models and integration into third-party data sets in order to enable more remote loan underwriting processes that reduce costs and increase the efficiency and accuracy in the onboarding of customers, conducting due diligence checks, and monitoring and mitigating risks. The selected vendor will work in close coordination with CGAPs task team leader (TTL) and The Partners key focal point and data analytics unit, to review their current risk modelling and underwriting processes to provide practical and context-relevant recommendations on ways to improve their efficiency and accuracy. This advice will need to be applicable to The Partners capacities and characteristics and needs to result in more efficient, accurate, and less costly risk management, customer on-boarding, and monitoring processes, ultimately translating in a reduction of non-performing loans. Implementing recommendations will allow The Partner to further expand their services among underserved smallholders in Colombia, enabling their investments and contributing to the desired food system transformation.
