The Object Of The Contract Is The Provision Of Services To Support The Implementation Of The Joint Ma In Contemporary Philosophy Between The National And Kapodistrian University Of Athens And The University Of California At Santa Barbara. The Aim Of Pms Is To Familiarize Students With The Most Important Schools Of Thought Of Modern Philosophy And To Offer High-Level Education In The Various Fields Of Philosophical Research. Upon Completion Of Their Studies, Graduates Will Be Able To Conduct Independent Research, Which Will Meet All The Requirements For Pursuing Doctoral Studies. They Will Also Be Able To Exercise Their Philosophical Skills In A Wide Range Of Fields And Subjects, Given That The Provided Philosophical Education Will Be Accompanied By The Knowledge Of A Range Of Scientific Subjects, Which Is Guaranteed By The Participation Of The Faculty Members Of The Ife Department, Which Since Its Foundation Has Been Dedicated To This Very Purpose. The Duration Of Studies Is Defined As Two (2) Academic Years, Four (4) Academic Semesters In Total, Including Three (3) Semesters Of Course Attendance And One (1) Semester For The Ma Dissertation. During The First Semester Of Studies, The Compulsory Courses Are Provided, During The Second Semester The Optional Compulsory Courses, The Third Semester The Optional Courses, And The Fourth Semester Is Dedicated To The Preparation Of The Diploma Thesis. The Basic Logic Of The Program Consists In The Increasing Freedom Of Choice Of The Graduate Students Per Semester, In Correspondence With The Progressive Maturation Of Philosophical Thought.
