The Assignment Described In This Tender Procedure Concerns The Large-Scale Renovation Of The Rotterdam Central Library, Located At Hoogstraat 110 In The Center Of The Municipality Of Rotterdam. The Building, Originally Completed In 1983 And With A Gross Floor Area Of Approximately 23,000 M², Is A Recognizable And Intensively Used Public Building. The Renovation Includes The Complete Replacement Of The Technical Installations, Facades And Interior Design. In Addition, The Building Will Be Expanded By Approximately 2,000 M² Gross Floor Area (Gfa). The Existing Concrete Shell Will Be Retained, As Will The Escalators And Library Theater. This Intervention Prepares The Building For The Future, With Attention To Sustainability, Comfort, Accessibility And A Contemporary Interpretation Of The Library Function. The Library Will Be Closed To The Public During The Entire Implementation Period. A Temporary Library Facility Has Been Set Up On The Nearby Librijesteeg. Various Activities Are Carried Out By Third Parties For Which The Contractor Has The Obligation To Coordinate Within This Assignment.
