Expression of Interest are invited for Marketplace for Green Equipment and Materials (MGEM) Platform The International Finance Corporation (IFC), through its EDGE green building program, is developing the Marketplace for Green Equipment and Materials (MGEM) to promote green housing in India. The project aims to provide homeowners making their own homes and mid-market developers with easy access to green construction materials and equipment from nearby suppliers and manufacturers. This platform will primarily serve homeowners, mid-market developers, and contractors seeking to comply with green housing standardsparticularly those required by green lending programs facilitated by financial institutions. Given the large market segment of low-income homeowners and self-builders who often struggle to access relevant information on green products, MGEM seeks to bridge this gap by offering a location-aware, multilingual, mobile-first marketplace. The platform will provide transparent, verified information on product performance, costs, suppliers, and financing options, supporting developers, homeowners, and contractors in adopting sustainable building solutions.
