CITY STORAGE FACILITY (CENTRAL WAREHOUSE) General Requirements Location: Easily accessible from major roads; proximity to City or Central hub in Dar es Salaam preferred. Size: Minimum 200m² scalable based on project load o 140m2 for normal materials and 60m² for electronic parts and tools with controlled HVAC system. o Storage Management Software System and Shelves o Manpower to control/manage storage o Able to provide weekly report on storage status Security: o 24/7 surveillance (CCTV) o Visitor and Contractor Management System o Controlled access (biometric or card-based) o Perimeter fencing and lighting Environmental Controls: o Ventilation and temperature control for sensitive equipment o Fire suppression systems (sprinklers, extinguishers) o Pest control measures Operational Features o Inventory Management System: Digital tracking of incoming/outgoing items. o Loading/Unloading Area: Covered bays for trucks and forklifts. o Staff Facilities: Office space. o Power Backup: Generator or UPS for critical systems. Storage Specifications o Racking Systems: Adjustable shelving for tools, spare parts, and consumables. o Compliance: Adherence to local safety and environmental regulations. o HVAC system for partial area (60m2) 2. SITE STORAGE FACILITY (TEMPORARY OR SEMIPERMANENT) General Requirements Location: Within secure perimeter of the site, close to work zones across corridor of the pipeline i.e. MST, MCPYs and PSs. 1 container per specified location. Size: 1No. 40 FT length container and 8No. 20FT length containers. Security: o Lockable containers or prefabricated units o Lighting for night visibility Operational Features o Quick Access: Layout optimized for daily use by site teams. o Weather Protection: Waterproof roofing and raised flooring. o Signage & Labelling: Clear identification of zones and materials.
