Information On The Construction Project General Description: Since The Construction Of The Berlin State Library, Potsdamer Straße Building, Technical Requirements, User Behavior And Library Work Processes Have Changed Fundamentally. The Building Structure, Which Was Built In The 1970S, And Much Of The Interior Are In Need Of Renovation. The Buildings Technical Systems Need To Be Replaced After Decades Of Intensive Use. Due To The Cubage Of The House, The “Basic Renovation Of The State Library” Construction Project Will Be Carried Out In Two Construction Phases. The First Construction Phase Includes The Renovation Of The Book Tower. The Second Construction Phase Includes Further Basic Repairs To The Base And Basement Floors As Well As The Outdoor Facilities. The Design Planning For The Entire Project Has Been Completed. Budgetary Approval Of The Construction Design Document Is Expected In October 2025.
