Work Detail
The Mixed Sewer System In The Dordsedijk In Klazienaveen Is In Poor Condition And No Longer Meets The Current Water Management Requirements. Within The Framework Of The Rainwater Structure Plan Of The Municipality Of Emmen, In Which The Dordsedijk Plays An Important Role, The Municipality Intends To Replace The Outdated Mixed Sewer System With A Separate System. This Offers The Opportunity To Realize Sustainable And Efficient Rainwater Management In The Roadway. In Addition, A Spacious Rainwater System Is Being Constructed, With Which The Residential Areas Behind It Can Also Be Connected In The Long Term, Which Contributes To A Future-Proof Rainwater Infrastructure. However, Sewer Replacement Offers More Than Just Functional Improvements; It Also Offers Opportunities For The Redesign Of The Public Area. The Dordsedijk Is A Busy And Important Traffic Artery In The Municipality, Where A Lot Of Traffic And Pedestrian Crossings Take Place Every Day. The Street Provides Access To Schools, A Shopping Center And Sports Facilities, Which Further Increases Traffic Congestion. Unfortunately, Accidents Occur Regularly, Especially At Intersections. That Is Why, In Collaboration With Residents And Local Stakeholders, We Looked At Ways To Improve Road Safety And The Design Of Intersections.
